CII for ensuring justice via courts instead of amendments

ISLAMABAD: The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has stressed the need to ensure justice through courts instead of making amendment in the constitution.

The 20th meeting of CII was held here Thursday with Dr. Qibla Ayaz in the chair .

After the meeting, addressing the press conference Chairman CII, Dr. Qibla Ayaz said that members were unanimous over making the Islamic point of view clear towards Senate of Pakistan.

All were agreed that judicial system of the country needs to be rectified, he added.

He said big decisions will have to make immediately, in this regard. He said Zainab murder case and other heinous crimes are rampant.

He informed that the council has recommended to establish courts for immediate justice to help the victims and affectees.

He said instead of intensity of punishment and seriousness, the punishment must be ensured, adding it was only way to minimize crime rate.

He urged the need to take help from modern sources of communication to advertise the punishments in order to gain the purpose of Islamic philosophy of punishment and deterrence.

Dr. Qibla Ayaz said that there is clearly written in the holy Quran regarding public hanging and presence of 30-40 persons was necessary to award punishment to culprit while in the prevailing circumstances, while hanging a criminal, many people inc-luding family members are present, which meet the purpose. The CCI through its declaration/statement and fatwa acceded and recommended to make legislation through Parliament for implementation.

Likewise this, those Ulema have signed Paigham-e-Pakistan declaration, discussion must be held among students of Maddarsah owned or being run by the Ulema and Higher Education Commission (HEC) must make it part of its syllabus.

It called upon the provincial governments to organize Ulema conventions on provincial and district level to publicize the declaration.

Qibal Ayaz told that CII also approved draft for inter faith harmony, cooperation and dialogue, which was forwarded by the ministry of religious affairs.

He hoped the state policy based on it will help highlight soft image of the country at international level.

The CII also agreed on bill regarding prohibition of private interest and termed it exploitation of poor and bound people.

It said private interest was causing social disrupt and called the need to curb it.

He told that CII has appreciated the PEMRA’s move to impose ban on advertisement of Valentine Day, proposed ban on celebration of Valentine day as it violation of social values.

The CII after the discussion decided to hold consultation with other religious head regarding wine.
