ISLAMABAD: Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, Senator Sirajul Haq has said that Chief of Justice of Pakistan should have the power of appointing the Chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Siraj said this while talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court on Thursday. He demanded to take the power from the government and opposition for appointing the Chairman NAB as it created problems because the partial appointment always favoring the government but is the impartial chairman NAB came then Pakistan will not have face such problems.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and the Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah are in consultations over the appointment of the new NAB chairman and JI will not give a name for the appointment of NAB chairman, he added.
It may be mentioned here that NAB chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry is retiring next month.
