Clash among Afghan soldiers and militants in Laghman province

LAGHMAN: At least six people were killed or wounded during a clash between the Afghan armed forces the anti-government armed militants in eastern Laghman province of Afghanistan.

The provincial government media office in a statement said the clash took place at around 6 am on Saturday in the vicinity of Alingar district.

The statement further added that incident took place close to the provincial capital in Basram ara and as a result a commander of the militants identified as Zubair was killed.

According to the provincial government, Zubair was also famous as Kochi and was a key member of commander Akram.

At least four other militants including commander Humair, Elyas, Zakir and Pohan were also wounded during the clash, the provincial government said.

The local officials are saying that a member of the Afghan armed forces was also wounded during the clash but his health condiitn has been reported as satisfactory.

The militants killed or wounded during the clash had also links with commander Rahmatullah and commander Yasir who were involved in major terrorist related activities in Alingar district, according to the local officials.

The anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents have not commented regarding the report so far.
