Clerics ask IE to create inclusive government

KABUL (TOLOnews): The Shia Ulema Council members of Afghanistan asked the Islamic Emirate to create an inclusive government in Afghanistan so that representatives of all ethnic groups can participate in it.
In the meantime, Mawlawi Abdul Hamid, an Iranian religious scholar, suggested that the Islamic Emirate should employ people of different ethnic groups for positions in the government institutions and provide possibilities for employment to the qualified.
“My request to the leaders of the Islamic government of Afghanistan is to employ the ethnic groups, and use the capabilities of the ethnic groups, and give the Afghan people hope for Islam,” Abdul Hamid stated during the Friday prayer.
“The expectation of the people of Afghanistan from the Islamic Emirate is that for the prosperity of the country, it should create an inclusive government which includes all the people of Afghanistan,” said Zamen Ali Ahmadi, a member of the Shia Ulema Council.
“Our hope is that all ethnic groups of Afghanistan, whether they were part of Tehreek-e-Taliban Islami during the Jihad or not, would be included in this government based on their merit and abilities,” said Abdullah Afzali, another member of the Shia Ulema Council.
In response to the religious scholar’s comments, Zabiullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, said that the current government includes members of all ethnic groups and is composed of the whole nation.
“The representatives of every ethnic group participate in government institutions at the highest levels, and 80 percent of former government workers now work in administrations. Nobody should worry about this,” Zabiullah Mujahid said.
The Iranian religious scholar urged the Islamic Emirate to allow women to pursue education while abiding by Islamic principles and to not for even a single day forbid them from learning science.
