CM approves up-gradation of 75722 employees

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has approved the up-gradation of 75722 employees of different pay scales including 53883 constables from BPS-5 to BPS-7, head constables 9095 from BPS-7 to BPS-9, 2758 sub-inspectors from BPS-9 to BPS-12 of provincial Police department, another up-gradation of 4970 lab attendants of different cadres departments including 23 Assistant Director Fisheries from BPS-17 to BPS-18, another up-gradation of 3 Economic Investigator Assistant from BPS-16 to BPS-17, 3 statistician from BPS-16 to BPS-17, 9 Research officer BPS-16 to BPS-17, 24 District Food Controllers from BPS-16 to BPS-17, 5 Deputy Directors Excise & Taxation from BPS-18 to BPS-19, 31 Excise & Taxation Officer BPS-17 to BPS-18, 42 Assistant Excise & Taxation Officer from BPS-16 to BPS-17, 165 Inspectors of Excise from BPS-15 to BPS-16, 26 Sub Inspectors from BPS-10 to BPS-14, 223 Assistant Sub Inspectors from BPS-8 to BPS-11, 547 Canal Patwari of irrigation department from BPS-7 to BPS-9, 109 Vernacular clerk from BPS-8 to BPS-11, one post of Admin Officer BPS-16 to BPS-17,  up-gradation of 211 accounts clerk from BPS-10 to BPS-14 of PHE, Irrigation, C&W and P&D departments.

The Chief Minister also approved the regularization of 4743 contract employees of 53 projects of different public sectors entities throughout the province.

This he decided in a high level meeting at Chief Minister House Peshawar. Senior Minister for Local Government Inayat Ullah, Finance Minister Muzafar Said, Advisor to Chief Minister Akbar Ayub, Administrative Secretaries and others attended. The meeting was briefed about the overall strength of the employees hired through contractual arrangement for different projects. After a detailed presentation, the Chief Minister directed to regularize the employees.

He also directed for a planning cell in each department adding that at district level such planning cells were more important to independently work for their respective outfits at lower tier of governance. This mechanism, he added, should bring a visible improvement in the overall planning and development at both provincial and district level he added.

Referring to the regularization of employees, the Chief Minister directed for a foolproof, transparent, just and equitable system of governance in all public sectors institutions adding that the regularization of employees should contribute to the overall governance structure and the people should be the end beneficiaries of the government steps.

The government has done its part of the responsibility for giving enabling environment to the public sector employees through upgradation of the existing staff and regularization of the contract employees. Now it is the turn of the government employees to deliver optimum utilizing all their energies to the cause of the people he added.

Pervez Khattak directed to prepare and finalize the design for the upgradation and regularization for the onward Cabinet approval thereafter it would be tabled at the provincial assembly forum for final approval.

The upgradation and regularization of different cadres of employees would benefit almost five thousand employees of different public sector entities that included the upgradation of head constables and constables alongwith risk allowance of Police Department, the regularization of contract employees of P&D and Home Departments, the upgradation of Secretary and Supervisor of Union Councils, employees of Revenue Department, upgradation of post of PHE, Irrigation, C&W, P&D, Agriculture, Food, Excise and Taxation, Information etc that will cost billions.

The Chief Minister expected a matching performance from the employees to facilitate the public in large. The Government he added has taken a big stride despite its meager resources and now the government employees should work honestly for the smooth implementation of government agenda for change as per expectations of the people.
