CM distributes cheques among heirs of martyred

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan distributed cheques of financial assistance under shuhada package among of the heirs of nine front line health workers who lost their lives due to Covid-19 in the line of duty.

A cheques distribution ceremony was held at Chief Minister’s House on Tuesday with Chief Minister Mahmood Khan as chief guest. It was attended by Health Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra, Secretary Health Imtiaz Hussain Shah and other high officials.

A total of 10 front line health workers’ families have been given cheques so far including the heirs of Dr. Muhammad Javed, the frontline health worker of the province and the first doctor who became victim of the pandemic. Under the shuhada package heirs of each front line health worker are being provided Rs 7.00 million.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that a total of 10 front line health workers’ families had been provided with financial assistance while six more cheques would be distributed very soon. He added that families of remaining front line health workers would also be compensated under the shuhada package.

Mahmood Khan while paying tribute to the services and sacrifices of doctors and other health workers during the pandemic said that front line health workers sacrificed their lives in order to save the lives of others, adding that their services and sacrifices for humanity would be remembered for ever.

The chief minister added that the incumbent provincial government highly appreciated and valued the services of health workers they were rendering in the prevailing corona situation.

He said that the vaccination process of health workers had been almost completed adding that personal protective equipment and other safety kits were being provided to them on priority in order protect them from pandemic.
