CM Kamal vows to make Balochistan a drugs-free province

F.P. Report

QUETTA: Expressing firm resolve against drugs, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan on Tuesday said that cultivation of opium would not be tolerated in the province.

CM Jam Kamal Khan directed the district administrations of Killa Abdullah, Loralai, Duki and Kalat to take strict actions against the cultivation of poppy in their respective areas in collaboration with Anti-Narcotics Force.

He asked the concerned authorities to assist the farmers for alternative crops in the affected areas and ensure provision of jobs to the locals.

The chief minister vowed to make Balochistan a drugs-free province and safeguard the future of youths.

Earlier, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Director General Major General Muhammad Arif Malik, on January 21, had directed to accelerate the ongoing countrywide counter-narcotics operations, with a continued special focus on apprehension of elements involved in drug smuggling to the students of academic institutions and hostels.

He had said this while chairing the Force Commanders Conference of ANF held at its headquarters in Rawalpindi.

Major General Muhammad Arif Malik had appreciated the campaign against drug sellers in educational institutions.
