PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak Tuesday asked Inspector General of Police to reassess the demand of retired police officers and officials to remove weaknesses and anomalies in the pension and other benefits.
Talking to a delegation of Retired Police Officers from Dir here at CM house, he said the provincial government has given an unprecedented raise in the perks and privileges of the government officers and official asking them to reciprocate in similar manners in discharge of their responsibilities to improve service delivery.
Pervez Khattak said that being CM of KP he is committed to resolve the problems of poor people of the province, adding that his government had taken unprecedented measures for welfare of poor people and good governance. “The people rights have been protected, their genuine demands addressed too,” the CM noted. Regarding the employees’ son quota of Malakand police and other demand, he assured a sympathetic consideration.
Provincial Minister Mehmood Khan, MPAs Dr. Amjad, Fazal Hakeem and others attended the meeting. The delegates appreciated the government’s delivery in all spheres of life and said that PTI government had actually given relief to the people in different sectors and people were comfortable with the PTI government, they added.
Furthermore Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak took oath from the newly elected body of the Swat Press Club at Chief Minister’s House Peshawar and assured them the release of their share fixed by him under a policy, the provincial government had given to all press clubs throughout the province.
In a simple ceremony, the newly elected body of the press club Swat was administered oath. A delegation also met Chief Minister in CM House Peshawar. Provincial Minister Mehmood Khan, MPAs Dr. Amjad, Fazal Hakeem attended.
A list of demand was presented and the Chief Minister told them that his government was going towards elections therefore at this moment, making demand and provision of resources by the government seemed a bit uncalled for.
The government, he said has given policy guidelines for funding of all press clubs relieving the journalists of the cumbersome situation to implore the MPAs and government for the grant of funding.
He said now there was a policy covering all aspects of media people that would be followed and the Information department would follow the guidelines for funding and look after of the journalist community.
The press clubs would have to give accounting for the previous grants and the Information department would allow them new funding. This funding is on the basis of the size of the press club in any given district, he added.
He said now we are heading towards fresh elections and favoring anybody would be a political favour and this approach, his government buried forever. Principles are principles, these are for all and for all times and we have to follow them, he added.
