CNS inaugurates special arms for PN

WAH CANTT: Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, NI(M) inaugurated special arms and ammunition developed by POF for Pakistan Navy.

Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, NI(M) Chief of Naval Staff lauded the competencies of POF Engineers and felicitated the entire POF and Pakistan Navy team involved in this accomplishment.

Earlier, Lt Gen Umar Farooq Durrani, HI(M) Chairman POF Board welcomed the Naval Chief at POF Helipad and introduced POF Board Members & senior POF Officers at POF Headquarters.

Mr. Usman Ali Bhatti Director Exports in his detailed briefing told the Naval Chief that POF is a gigantic complex and its industrial base is strong enough to undertake development and production of almost all types of conventional arms and ammunitions.

He said that POF has always accomplished the targets assigned by Pakistan Armed Forces during war and peace. In order to attain self-sufficiency and to equip POF with latest technologies, up-gradation of plant and machinery has been started. Naval Chief was apprised of POF mandate and as per mandate POF is meeting 100% requirement of Pakistan Armed Forces in terms of Arms and Ammunition.

Moreover, the surplus production capacity is being exported to more than 40 countries around the globe. Chief of Naval Staff expressed satisfaction over the POF’s expertise and acknowledged the high quality of POF products.

While endorsing the remarks in the Visitors’ Book Naval Chief mentioned “I am impressed with the quality of work of POF & all those who have participated in this Pakistan Navy project and made it a success deserve high appreciation. We look forward to more cooperation and development of more products for Pakistan Navy”.
