COAS Bajwa says Pakistan attaches great importance to its ties with Germany

RAWALPINDI: Outgoing German Ambassador Stephan Schlagheck called on Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed a variety of issues with him.

According to a statement issued by the ISPR, His Excellency Mr Bernhard Stephan Schlagheck, German Ambassador to Pakistan, paid a farewell call to General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Wednesday.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, overall regional situation, bilateral cooperation in various fields were discussed.

The COAS said that Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with Germany. He thanked visiting dignitary for his services and appreciated his contributions for fostering strong ties between the two countries and support towards defence/security cooperation.

The visiting dignitary acknowledged Pakistan’s continuous efforts for peace and stability in the region and pledged to play his role to further enhance cooperation between both countries, the ISPR statement added.
