COAS reaches Quetta after suicide blast
QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwar reached Quetta, a day after a suicide attack targeted military vehicle near Pishin bus stop in which 15 persons were died including eight soldiers and left 40 others injured in the blast.
The suicide attacker was riding a motorcycle and blew himself up as he came near the military truck and at least 25-30 kilograms of explosives materials were used in the suicide attack.
The COAS is expected to chair a meeting on security and review the law and order situation in Quetta later today. A high-level investigation team, comprising three senior police officers, has been formed to probe the deadly suicide bombing, Home Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti announced on Sunday. “Forensic experts from Punjab will take part in the investigations into the attack,” he added.
