PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has lawyers to appear before court for arguments in medical student Asma Rani murder case on 31 May after concluding of compromise among families to end the enmity, on Thursday.
A divisional bench of PHC comprising of Justice Rooh-ul-Amin and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim hearing petition regarding closure of case of convicted for death sentence Mujahid in Asma Rani Murder case while counsel for convicted culprit informed that compromise had concluded seven month earlier.
The counsel for petitioner argued that Supreme Court omitted sections of terrorism act from Mujahid while he is still death cell since conclusion of compromise seven months earlier and requested for finishing the case against petitioner.
The counsel argued that statement of former Prime Minister Imran Khan is available on social media regarding the case and added can political party interferes in court’s proceeding, however, Justice Rooh-ul-Amin remarked that there is no statement of former PM is available on file and added that court fulfilling its own responsibilities while adjourned further hearing till 31 May.
It is worthy to mention that Mujahid had killed Asma Rani after refusal from marriage while escaped to foreign and arrest from Dubai, UAE.
Moreover, trial court has convicted Mujahid for death sentence but deceased family has made compromise while court nominated Barrister Emir Ullah for assistance in the case.
