‘Constitution should be included in curriculum’

KABUL (Pajhwok): Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs officials said that the Constitution could be included in school curriculum for public awareness. The Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs held a meeting here to mark the anniversary of the Constitution.

Sayedullah Salam, social affairs adviser at the Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs, said constitutional questions should be included in the Kankor and exams for all government posts for public awareness. He said religious scholars should also educate people on the Constitution and media should also present articles of the constitution to viewers from time to time.

Mohammad YaqubAhmadzai, deputy minister of border and tribal affairs, said, implementation of the Constitution should be started from authorities and then enforced on people. Ahmadzai said celebrating the Constitution would not work until it was fully implemented. Another senior official of the ministry, Faridon Barakzai, said the Constitution protected the rights of all ethnic groups but it was unlikely to give all ethnic groups equal share in the peace delegation. He said the government should appoint a delegation for the peace talks that could represent all ethnic groups in Afghanistan.
