Construction of houses, apartments to kick off soon

KABUL: The Laghman provincial and Ministry of Urban Development and Housing (MUDH) officials are saying that the construction of 4000 residential houses and apartments will kick off soon in Laghman province.

The provincial government said Sunday that the Minister of Urban Development and Housing Syed Sadat Mansoor Naderi informed regarding the plans for Laghman during a meeting with the governor of the province Mohammad Asif Nang.

According to a statement released by the provincial government, during his meeting with Minister Naderi, governor Nang shared his recommendations regarding the urban development, detailed urban development plan of Laghman, the ring road of Sultan Ghazi Baba townhip, high rise residential buildings construction in Laghman, and construction of a major mosque and guesthouse in the governmental complex.

In his turn, Minister Naderi said the work on 4000 residential houses and high rise residential buildings will kick off in the near future with the support of the private sector in a bid to resolve the issues the residents of the province face in the housing sector.

He also added that a delegation led by deputy housing and urban development minister will visit Laghman soon in a bid to conduct initial assessments for the two major projects, according to Laghman governor’s office.
