F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan’s advocate submitted reply on Monday in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) over the contempt case.

Chief Election Commissioner, Justice (Retd) Sardar Raza Khan headed the five member ECP bench and heard the case. Babar Awan, the Imran’s submitted reply before the ECP bench and pleaded to the ECP to dismiss the contempt case proceedings against the PTI chief, however the petitioner counsel objected that Imran Khan didn’t apologize to the court.

Earlier in the last hearing, the ECP had issued warrants against Imran to ensure his presence in the case. However, the PTI approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the issuance of warrants.

The IHC suspended the arrest warrants. Hearing the case, Justice Aamer Farooq, who headed a three-member larger bench, directed the PTI chief to reply to the ECP’s show-cause notice.
