Cop martyred, terrorist killed in CTD raid

MARDAN: A policeman was martyred during a raid conducted by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Jahangirabad Khatko Kaly area of Tehsil Takhtbhai of Mardan, on Friday.

According to details, the CTD officials conducted a raid in Jamai Masjid and in exchange of fire with the Imam Masjid the CTD personnel was martyred and the Imam was killed in the incident. Police sources claimed that Imam Masjid identified as Maulana Fawad Khan, resident of Bakhshali was wanted to the CTD police in different cases. The Maulana was Imam in Jamia Masjid of village Jahangirabad Khatko Takht Bhai Mardan. The sources said that CTD police team reached in Masjid on Friday. Meanwhile the Imam was in his room on the third floor of the mosque building.

The police talked to Maulana Fawad to cooperate and that go with us to the police station, in response he agreed. Police said that all the policemen came down and assigned the duty of a policeman to come down with the maulana.
