PESHAWAR: In a bid to prevent spread of deadly coronavirus, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Monday has issued directives for the employees working at different offices across the province.
During the hearing, the court has barred employees from shaking hands and hugging each other. The judge has also ordered the workers suffering from cough, fever and flu to wear mask.
Biometric attendance system has also been suspended as per the directives.
It is to be mentioned here that four coronavirus cases have been surfaced in Pakistan. The authorities have shut borders with Iran and Afghanistan (Taftan, Chaman) to control the disease.
Prime ministers advisor on health Dr. Zafar Mirza said the government would reinforce surveillance measures at border crossings with Iran and other neighbouring countries.
He said top government officials have decided “a national campaign will be launched to create greater awareness among the people about coronavirus and precautions.”
The Federal Institute of Health in Islamabad and the Kidney Center in Rawalpindi have been recommended for the establishment of Corona Treatment Centre.
The virus has now killed more than 2900 people and infected over 83,000 worldwide, with an increasing number of new cases being reported each day.
