Corps Commanders’ meeting resolves to support govt in implementation of NAP

RAWALPINDI: Corps Commanders’ conference on Tuesday expressed its resolve to support government and all stake holders in implementation of National Action Plan (NAP), said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the military’s media wing, the Corps Commanders’ conference was held today with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa in the chair at General Headquarters.

COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that having achieved stability against terrorism, Pakistan was on positive trajectory of becoming a state where prerogative of use of weapons rests with the state alone and socio-economic development was taking preeminence.

The meeting reviewed geo-strategic environment and ongoing situation along Eastern Border, the statement said and added that the forum expressed strong will, resolve and determination to defend the motherland against any misadventure or aggression.

The statement further said that the forum reiterated to continue its efforts for bringing enduring pace in the county while supporting all initiatives towards regional peace.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan on March 28 had said implementation on the National Action Plan (NAP) was government’s top priority.

Chairing a meeting of the National Internal Security Committee, to review country’s internal security situation in Islamabad, he had lauded the role and sacrifices rendered by the security forces in the war against terror to ensure peace and stability in Pakistan.

The PM had reiterated that government was committed to remove hurdles to ensure smooth implementation on the NAP.
