Maryam and Safdar were appeared before the court and rejected the charges while Nawaz Sharif rejected the charges through his representative namely Zafir Khan and vowed to contest the case and declare it baseless case against them.

The charges said that trust deed of the London flats of 2006 is fake and in the trust deed the Calibri font was used and it was not available publicly in 2006 and the accused also submitted fake and bogus documents in the court.

The court hearing was adjourned until 26 October and prosecution will produce its witnesses in the area. Moreover, former premier Nawaz Sharif is likely to be indicted in two more references filed against him when the hearing resumes today.

Earlier, during the hearing of the corruption references, Ayesha Hamid requested the court to halt proceedings until the Supreme Court decision on her client’s plea regarding the re-filing of references.

Similarly, Maryam and MNA Capt (retd) Safdar’s counsel, Amjad Pervez, argued before Accountability Judge Mohammad Bashir that his clients were not provided with the complete documents of the case and thus the indictment process should be halted.

However, the judge dismissed both pleas after which Nawaz filed another plea requesting the court to combine the three references but that too was dismissed.
