PESHAWAR: Accountability Court Peshawar Judge Haq Nawaz acquitted 20 officials nominated in case filed against recruitment of Class-4 employees in different schools for providing land while turndown reference of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
According to prosecution Zar Wali, Jadi Khan, Munir Khan Mohmand, Abdul Shakoor and Iftikhar Shamozai along with 15 others had recruitment class-4 employees in different schools of Hangu and Peshawar districts from 2015-18.
The prosecution argued that Supreme Court directed to provide compensation to owners for providing land to government despite recruiting land-owners while the officials had violated honorable court’s order which has caused financial burden on national exchequer.
The counsel for officials are Fazal Elahi and Yahya Zahid Gilani Advocates informed that the accused did not made the decision for personal benefits because several schools are still closed on recruitment of other persons despite land-owners.
The counsel argued that under amended NAB’s law the Accountability Court lacks jurisdiction in the reference. After conclusion of arguments Accountability Court Peshawar Judge Haq Nawaz returned reference to NAB and acquitted the officials.
