Court again indicts PPP’s Arbab Alamgir, Asma in assets beyond means case

PESHAWAR: An accountability court on Tuesday hearing assets beyond known source of income case, has once again indicted the former federal minister Dr Arbab Alamgir and his wife Asma Alamgir, after removing the part regarding foreign properties from the reference.

According to details, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders Arbab Alamgir and Asma appeared before the accountability court and it heard a case against them for owning assets beyond known sources of income.

During the hearing, the court heard the arguments of both sides and later it removed the part regarding foreign properties from the reference against the accused.

Earlier, NAB filed reference against the couple mentioned foreign properties.

In today’s court proceedings, the NAB court has also summoned five witnesses of the case.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed a reference against the couple for allegedly accumulating assets worth Rs332 million which were beyond their known sources of income.

NAB said in its probe that it surfaced that the suspects accumulated movable and immovable assets including a house in G-11/3 Islamabad; 10-kanal land at Mauza Shah Alladitta, Islamabad; a bungalow in F-7/2 Islamabad; prize bonds; a land rover vehicle and several bank transactions.
