Court grants interim bail to Asad Umar in terrorism case

F.P. Report

LAHORE: A local court in Lahore has granted interim bail to PTI General Secretary Asad Umar in a terrorism case till April 7.

The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf general secretary again submitted his bail application to the anti-terrorism court as the court rejected his bail yesterday following his non-appearance.

Umar submitted his petition through barrister Salman Safdar.

ATC Judge Abhar Gul Khan heard the petition.

While accepting his interim bail, the judge directed Umar to submit surety bonds worth Rs100,000. He also stopped police from arresting the PTI leader.

A terrorism case has been registered in Lahore’s Shadman police station against Asad Umar and other PTI activists for their involvement in incidents of arson and attack on police on Canal Road.
