PESHAWAR: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) carried out a crackdown against illegal Hundi and Hawala businesses and arrested two culprits and recovered national and international currency on Saturday.
Sub Inspector Zafar Khattak said that a raid was conducted by FIA CBC on hundi/ hawala and illegal foreign exchange dealers at Katlang area of Mardan Mardan on the directives of Director FIA Shuja Naveed. During the raid one accused Ahmad Ali son of Ziarat Gul was arrested who was involved in illegal business of and another accused Muzaffar Khan was also arrested for his involvement in illegal currency exchange, he said.
He added that Rs.190000, SR.1750 and UAE. 2650 were recovered during the raids.
