KARACHI: The highly anticipated return of middle-order batsman Fawad Alam in Pakistan team has been noting less but a treat for cricket fans as they welcome the decision of team management with open arms on social media.
The ongoing second Test in Southampton is now the second most talked about topic in the cricket world as they turn their attention over the long waited return of 34-year-old left-hander.
The Karachi native waited for 10 years and 258 days to earn himself a comeback call in the playing XI despite performing with consistency in domestic cricket.
During this period, Fawad missed 88 Test matches for Pakistan. Among those, the Men in Green managed to win 35, lost 39 and draw 14.
Fun fact is that Fawad Alam is the least experienced player in the playing XI of today’s game, with only four caps. Interestingly playing XI didn’t even made their debuts when Fawad played his last Test for Pakistan. Moreover, three players in the XI hadn’t made their first-class debut either.
