CS directs edu dept to include ethics in curriculum

PESHAWAR: The chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Azam Khan has directed the authorities of Education Department to include different topics on ethics in the curriculum before the commencement of next academic year.

He also instructed the authorities that such lessons should be prepared in a summarized form to be dispatched to all the educational institutes for imparting the same to the students in a month, says an official statement here Thursday.

The aim behind the directives was to focus on the behavioral and moral development of the new generations.

The chief secretary identified about 35 topics of moral, social, civic and ethical nature and conveyed the same to the education department for including in the curriculum of different classes and levels from the next academic year.

He also instructed that lessons on different topics for different classes, based on the age group of the children and students should be prepared through the involvement of educational experts from the curriculum wing.

The same would be included in the text books of various levels to be available for the students in the next academic year, he added.

These topics are based on the teachings of our religion and socio-cultural values. The same would help the new generations in building up their personality and creating harmony in the society.
