CS takes notice of dilapidated graveyards

PESHAWAR: Taking serious notice of the dilapidated condition of various graveyards of the province, the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan Wednesday directed the Auqaf Department to immediately work out a plan for clean and green graveyards in the province within a week.

The authorities of the Auqaf Department were asked to emphasize on the renovation of paths, cleanness and plantation in all the graveyards, said a notification issued here.

In first phase, such work would be initiated in Rehman Baba and Hazar Khawani Graveyards Peshawar, Prang Graveyard Charsadda, Shahdand Baba Graveyard Mardan, Christian Graveyard Peshawar and Shamshan Gaat Peshawar.

It was also instructed that the required renovation/ construction work in the above mentioned six graveyards must be carried out in a month positively.
