LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab has arrested 11 terrorists belonging to proscribed outfits during different intelligence-based operations in various districts of the province, on Saturday.
According to the CTD spokesperson, the terrorists belonged to various banned organizations, including Al-Qaeda, Daesh and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.
Moreover, some of the alleged terrorists were identified as Mehtab, Tariq, Gul Azam, Muawiya, Imad, Waris, and Jabar.
All the terrorists were detained from different districts of Punjab, including Lahore, and 10 cases were registered in Lahore, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal in this regard.
Likewise, the combing operations also resulted in the arrest of 100 suspects and 76 FIRs were registered during this week, said the CTD official.
He added that explosives, hand grenades, detonators, pamphlets and other explosive materials were also seized from their possession.
The spokesperson further said terrorist networks had finalized their terrorism plan to strike in the sensitive cities.
“The CTD Punjab is leaving no stone unturned to nip the terrorism and anti-state elements in the bud,” the spokesperson added.
