CTD arrests Jundullah leader in Karachi raid

KARACHI: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested a leader of a banned organization in a raid conducted in Karachi, on Thursday.

According to details, the arrested leader of Jundullah was Identified as Ishaque Gul and he was taken into custody during a raid. CTD also recovered hand grenades and a suicide jacket from his possession.

Pakistan has intensified its efforts against militant organizations as part of National Action Plan devised after the 2014 APS attack.

The country’s armed forces have long been battling militancy. They have succeeded in establishing peace in major parts of Pakistan.

A wave of terrorism killed over 50, 000 people including security personnel during the last decade.
