CTD arrests two alleged militants, recovered explosives

CHARSADDA: Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) had arrested two alleged militants who were involved in 21 terrorist attacks in the district and belonged to the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, on Wednesday.

The alleged militants were identified as Zakir alias Yasir and Mudasir in the premises of police station Sro whoever First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against them at CTD Mardan police station and will be presented before Anti-Terrorist Court for further legal proceedings.

The militants are allegedly involved in killing of nine Khasadar personals of the tribal district Momand on 18th February 2016, said CTD SP Fazal Wahid Khan along with SP investigation Darwesh Khan.

They claimed in a press conference that the alleged terrorist confessed during the investigation also killed seven civilians and 22 other injured in a clash between police and bombers who tried to enter the tehsil Tangi court on 22 February 2017. The CTD officials said that AK-47 with ammunition and explosive grenade was recovered from the suspects’ possession, added involve in twenty one bomb attack incident.

He said that the alleged terrorists had planned to attack Law-Enforcement Agency personnel in the future. He had made important disclosures regarding program of the terrorist organization in this region, he added.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Darwesh disclosed that the alleged militants trained in Afghanistan and also confessed his facilitator involved in different terror attack. Added the alleged terrorist will present before the anti-terrorist court on Thursday.
