Current environment not feasible for party politics: Asif Zardari

F.P. Report

LAHORE: Former president and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Monday said that the country’s atmosphere doesn’t allow him to do party politics.

Talking to media in Lahore on Monday, he warned the government to avoid usurping provinces’ rights as the country’s situation on the border was not allowing them to play politics.

The PPP co-chairman said that the government wasn’t releasing the due share of Sindh and Balochistan.

Zardari went on to say that if we start indulging in politics at the moment, we can ‘play’ very well.” If the situation permitted, we would have taken a number of steps to put the government in trouble, he added.

The former president said: “He would start Punjab tour with a visit to South Punjab. The atmosphere these days are not feasible for indulging in domestic politics.”
