Daesh gunmen abduct ten civilians

JALALABAD:  The Islamic State or Daesh gunmen abducted 10 civilians in Chaparhar district in Nangarhar province.

A local resident of Daulatzai village, Abdul Hakim told Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) that people were on their way towards their fields to collect opium. The Daesh gunmen were hiding in the fields.

“The Daesh gunmen abducted 10 persons. They included Atta Jan, his son and nephew, Rehmat Jan, his son, nephew, two brothers identified as Daftar and Abdul Wali, Jamal and another person,” he said.

Local residents of Daulatzai said they had received that the Daesh gunmen had taken and killed these people in Gorgorai area of Haska Maina district.

The relatives of the deceased people informed Wolesi Jirga member Amir Jan Daulatzai about the incident.

However, officials have not said anything formally in this regard so far.

It is pertinent to mention here that Daesh gunmen and Afghan government demolished poppy crop in Chaparhar district few days ago.

The Daesh gunmen oppose cultivation of poppy crop in the areas under their control.

They captured dozens of people on charges of growing poppy in Batikot district few days ago. Later, the Daesh imposed fine of 50,000 Afghanis on each of them.
