Dar challenges his indictment in IHC

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday challenged his indictment in the Islamabad High Court; the Accountability Court had indicted Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in a corruption reference which was filed against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on the directives of Supreme Court’s (SC) verdict in Panama Papers case on July 28.

Dar rejected all charges against him regarding the illegal assets and funds beyond known sources of income. Dar had also submitted security bonds worth five million rupees as per the directions of the court and demanded justice from the court in order to prove his innocence before the court.

Dar petitioned that he had been indicted by the accountability court without being given the mandated time and fullifliing the law procedure in this regard.

He also requested the IHC to suspend the indictment proceedings.
