Darren Sammy plants sapling at Governor House Sindh

KARACHI (NNI): Peshawar Zalmi captain Darren Sammy on Monday visited Governor House Sindh and planted a sapling to support Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ‘Clean, Green Pakistan’ drive.

Sammy was warmly welcomed by Governor Imran Ismail and thanked him for paying a visit to the governor house.

Expressing his views on the occasion, Mr Ismail said atmosphere is electrifying due to visit of the foreign stars to Karachi for Pakistan Super League 4 matches.

Bulk of foreign players visit to Pakistan, shows their utmost confidence into security measures taken by Pakistan, he continued. On the occasion, Sammy said visiting Pakistan is always an honour for him and said he is feeling good after wearing Shalwar Kameez suit.

Recalling his memories about plantation, Sammy said, he belongs to a family having farmers’ background and planting a sapling was not new to him. He underlined the importance of plantation for a clean and secure environment.

Earlier, Sammy along with the PSL franchise’s chairman Javed Afirdi paid a visit to the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah to pay his respects on Sunday.

“I am extremely honored to have visited the tomb of Mohammad Ali Jinnah founder and father of this great nation,” West Indies cricket star wrote on his official Twitter account after the visit. “A legend whose message of faith unity and discipline can make this world a much better place. I am truly inspired.”
