Day 1: 28th Palmolive Sindh Women’s Swimming Championship 2022

KARACHI: It was a great day for swimming, as the 28th Palmolive Sindh Women’s Championship 2022 opened with 200+ participants from different schools, clubs and institutions.

The spectacular performances of the young female participants met with enthusiastic cheering as they swam their best, breaking records in the various age groups.

The wife of the Convener of the Karachi Club Swimming Pool, Mrs. Saima Kazi, was the Chief Guest at the Opening Ceremony.

Organized by Karachi Women’s Swimming Association (KWSA), this year marks the 28th year of the competition.

As the principal sponsor, Colgate-Palmolive (Pakistan) Ltd. takes great pride in playing an active and unwavering role in supporting this prestigious competition, year on year.

New Record:

An amazing 3 records have been broken by talented Pakistani female swimmers on the opening day of this prestigious two-day championship.

Records Broken in Age Group 13-14 years:

Age 13-14 years 50M Breaststroke: Hareem Malik, The CAS School, New Time: 0:36.26. Previous time was set at 0.37.84, held since 2016.

Age 13-14 years 100M Breaststroke: Hareem Malik, The CAS School, New Time: 1:22.01. Previous time was set at 1.22.58, held since 2017.

Records Broken in Age Group 15-16 years:

Age 15-16 years 100M Backstroke: Iman Shaikh, Karachi Gymkhana Club, New Time: 1:15.29. Previous time was set at 1:19.34, held since 2016.

An Awards Ceremony followed in the evening on the first day. The second (and last) day of the event will take place on Sunday, 20th November, 2022.
