DC Islamabad decides to reopen public parks

ISLAMABAD: Following the outbreak of the coronavirus in country and confirmed cases reported in capital Islamabad the city administration of Islamabad while relaxing Standard operating procedures for first time decided to open public parks and walking trails on immediate effects from today while sports complex and grounds will remain close a notification issued from the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad office on Monday added.

The notification mentioned that in pursuance to the notification/orders issued in the connection with novel Covid-19 pandemic, it has been decided that parks and trails are being opened for general public although sports grounds will remain closed.

It should be noted here that administration decided to open the public parks and walking trails at a time when the total infection from the deadly virus reached to 245 while six people lost their lives as well, also 10 new confirmed infections reported in federal capital in past twenty four hours.

The notification further added that the said adherence to the sops issued by this office time to time including the social distancing guidelines only of exercise and walk as the office directed the environment directorate; Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad will be responsible for implementing these sops and guidelines.

The district administration issued new Sops for the shopkeepers and customers and directed to follow them strictly.

The guidelines added that  the staff should wash hands with soap and water frequently or use an alcohol-based (70%) hand sanitizer as well to ensure the availability of alcohol-based hand sanitizer (at least 70% alcohol) at the store entrance for the customers.

Guidelines further added that make sure each customer sanitizes his hand before entering the store and while leaving as well ensure the availability of thermal guns at entrance and allow customers only after checking temperature.
