Deadly Earthquake: Afghanistan extends support to Turkey, Syria

KABUL (TOLOnews): Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended condolences to Turkiye and Syria over the loss of lives from a massive earthquake that killed more than 5,000 people.
On Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on behalf of the Afghan people and the current interim government to express its deepest condolences and sympathies to the people of both countries, Turkey and Syria, for the loss of hundreds of lives and substantial financial losses, said the statement.
“IEA-MoFA, on behalf of the Afghan people and government, expresses its deepest condolences and sympathies to the Muslim brothers, countries and people for the loss of hundreds of lives and huge financial losses caused by the recent earthquake in Türkiye and Syria.”
The statement said that the IEA shares the grief of its Muslim brothers and sisters with the people of both countries and urged Islamic countries and aid organizations to take urgent actions to assist the victims of this tragedy.
Meanwhile, the statement also said that based on human sympathy and Islamic brotherhood, the IEA extended the aid of $ 110 000 with the devastating earthquake –that hit the Turkish people and $55,000 to the Syrian people.
The statement also asked the diplomatic mission and Afghans living in Turkey to support the Turkish people.
