Death toll in Qila Saifullah blast rises to seven

QUETTA: At least seven people were killed and five injured in a blast at a house in Qila Saifullah area of Balochistan on Thursday night, officials said.

The injured were shifted to the Civil hospital Qila Saifullah, where emergency had been imposed.

According to the initial report by the Bomb Disposal Squad, at least 1200kg of explosive material was used in the explosion.

The house wracked by the explosion eventually demolished.

Following the explosion, the deputy commissioner of the area said the rescue and local authorities were clearing out the rubble from the blast site.

Further investigation regarding the nature of the explosion is underway, the deputy commissioner added.
