Decision on election alliance close to general polls: PPP

KARACHI: The decision regarding elections alliance will be taken near to General polls next year, the PPP announced here on Friday.

“Media Cell Bilawal House has clarified a news aired and published in sections of media about making no alliance with any party during next general elections,” spokesman Bilawal House said.

It is clarified, he informed, that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had endorsed the idea in CEC meeting for making no alliance with any party.

“But it was decided in CEC that final decision in this regard will be taken closer to the general elections,” he clarified. According to reports, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari decided to launch a public mobilisation drive in Punjab and Sindh.

The decision was taken during a high-level consultative meeting chaired by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari a day earlier in Lahore. During the meeting, PPP has also decided not to form an alliance with any political party for the next general elections.

“PPP will contest elections on its own symbol and the party will nominate candidates in every constituency across the country,” said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari .

During the meeting, it was also decided if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif level any allegation against PPP, a “befitting” response will be given.
