Decisions taken by govt but undue propaganda made against Ulema: Siraj

LAHORE: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq has said that decisions regarding coronavirus were being made by the government but it was matter grave concern that undue propaganda was being made against the Ulema.

Addressing Friday congregation at the Mansoora mosque, Sirajul Haq said that the government itself was not capable of taking decisions. He said if the decisions were being made by the Ulema, then the power should be handed over to some religious scholar.

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq said that nobody could dare to go against the government decisions. He said the Ulema had always followed the law and also asked the people to respect the law and abide by it.    

However, the JI chief said the secular elements in the country and politics including ministers deemed it their duty to criticize the mosques, madrissahs and the Ulema without any just cause. 

Sirajul impressed upon the masses to strictly follow the precautionary measures announced by the government to contain corona. He pointed out that Deen did not allow putting oneself or anyone in risk because our body and life was a divine trust. Wisdom, he said, demanded that we protected ourselves as well as others from every risk, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq added. 

Stating that the government attitude was pushing the people towards disappointment, the JI chief expressed the hope that Allah Almighty would be kind and merciful to His creation and the curse of corona would come to an end within the months of Ramazan.  

Sirajul Haq emphasized upon the people, to keep up the Sunnah of Moakhat or Islamic Brotherhood and arrange Sehri and Iftari for at least one deserving family in their neighborhood. to facilitate them in this respect.

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq said that so far, the government performance on this score was highly disappointing.

The JI chief said that Ramazan was the month of sharing the hardships and worries of fellow beings. He said that millions of our countrymen were already living below the poverty line while corona virus had added to their numbers. Millions of daily wage earners and workers were on the point of starvation.

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq said that under such circumstances, all those having means must rise for the help of others, especially widows, orphans and other needy.
