LANDI KOTAL: Like other parts in the country, the 54 Defense Day was observed on Friday with zeal and enthusiasm here in LandiKotal to pay tribute to the martyrs of the country. In this connection a pro-forces rally was organized in which minority provincial member WelsanWazir, Assistant commissioner, LandiKotal Muhammad Imran, scores of tribal elders, local Christian and members of civil society participated in it.

Addressing on the occasion speakers including WelsonWazir, AC Muhammad Imran and others paid rich tribute to the martyrs and said the Day was observing with the aim to remember those who laid down their lives in for the sake of the country. “Our forces have rendered matchless sacrifices while defending our motherland on several occasion of Indian aggression and are prepared enough to secure the country in future against any offense”, they remarked.

The speakers also expressed their solidarity with the Kashmiri people and said that they would extend their unconditional support to the oppressed Kashmiri people till they get their independence from the Indian hold. The protesters while carrying banner and placards inscribed with slogans in favor of forces and Kashmiri people marched from Bacha Khan chowk to in front of LandiKotal.

Similarly, students of Aqra Education system also observed Defense Day by initiating rally at bypass, Pak-Afghan highway in LandiKotal. The students were on the view that Pak army written a new history of sacrifice on Sep 6th, 1965 when they inflicted a crushing bow on many fold powerful enemy. The whole nation was stood stern beside the Kashmiri people till their self-determination, they added.

A.R. AbidBunery adds from Buner: Defense Day observed in parts of Buner district on Friday. Seminars and walks were organized. Large number of citizen, officers of line departments, social and religious figures participated.

The major gathering was held at Dr. Qadeer Khan Colony Daggar.Deputy Commissioner Said Nawab Khan, AC DaggarLatifurRehman, AAC Daggar Syed Munawar Shah, AD local Government Amanullah Khan, TMO Daggar Amin Khan, district KhateebMaulanaHamidurRehman, Press Club Chairman Abid, heads of line department attended. Deputy Commissioner In his brief speech highlighted importance of celebrating defense of Pakistan Day. He added Pak army and citizens were proved Pakistan strong and secured. He continued to say celebration of this day help to send message all over the world that Pakistani nation are vigilant about their defence and may face any foreign aggression.

On the occasion Kashmir issue also highlighted. The seminar concluded with joint pray for liberation of Kashmir from the clutches of occupied Indian forces. The seminar endorsed extending every possible support for Kashmiri. Walk was also organized. Banners and play cards were displayed. The participants raised full throat slogans of Pakistan MazbootHain (Pakistan is stronger), Kashmir Azad Ho Kr Rahega (Kashmir will finally liberated).

HanifUllah adds from Bajaur: The martyrs had sacrificed their lives to protect nation, frontiers and ideology of the country; Sector Commander North Brigadier Ghulam Muhammad Malik.

This he said while ceremony held with connection to Defense and Martyrs day at Jirga hall Khar. He added that on 6th September 1965 India had provoked Pakistan but security forces with public assistance to push back Indian army. He paid tribute to martyrs and meet with family members of martyrs.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) UsmanMehsud, Commandant Bajaur Scouts Colonel RehmanQadir, Assistant Commissioners Khar and Nawagai Anwar-ul-Haq and HabibullahWazir addressed the participants. Large numbers of family members of martyrs were also participated in the ceremony.

SahibzadaAfridi adds from Kohat: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mattiullah and District Police Officer (DPO) Wahid Mehmood visited families of Martyrs on the occasion of defense and martyrs day.

According to details, defense and martyrs days was as Kashmir solidarity day, police had arranged March with flags of Pakistan and Kashmir. A ceremony was held at Kohat cant to pay tribute to martyrs and observe defense day. DPO said that on 6th September 1965 Pakistani nation and forces had defeated Indian forces and pushed back them. He added that forces had made unprecedented sacrifices in the history.

Like all parts of the country, people of North Waziristan on Friday celebrated Defense Day with traditional enthusiasm and devotion with the renewal of pledge to give every sacrifices for the stability, solidarity and prosperity of the country. Pakistan’s army held special ceremony in which Major General Shakirullah Khan Khattak placed wreaths at the martyrs’ memorial and offered prayers for martyrs who laid sacrifices in the line of duty to defend motherland.

The ceremony was attended by large number of people, school children, tribal elders and officials of district administration. Addressing the ceremony, Major General Shakirullah Khan Khattak highlighted the importance of the Defense Day in the national history said that the day is extremely important for the whole national especially Pak Army.

He said that on this day the entire nation paid tributes to those brave soldiers who wrote the new chapter of national history with their blood. During the ceremony, he also distributed gifts among relatives of martyrs and said nation was united to meet any challenges. He said that armed forces would support Kashmiris by all possible means to get freedom and would go to any extent in this regard. A rally was also taken to express solidarity with armed forces and Kashmiri bothers in their freedom struggle.

On this occasion, stalls were setup for exhibition of defense weapons in the Younis Khan Stadium. A large number of people including children visited the stadium to watch weapon exhibition.

In Gilgit, Force Commander GilgitBaltistan Major General IhsanMehmood Khan on Friday paid glowing tributes to the martyrs and ghazis of the country’s armed forces, saying their supreme sacrifices for the sake of the motherland would always be remembered.

He was speaking at ceremony held at mausoleum of HavaldarLalak Jan Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, where he laid floral wreaths on his grave and smartly turned out contingent of Pak army Pakistan Army presented guard of honor in connection with Defense Day. Prayers were also offered for the soldiers who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

He said that Lalak Jan Shaheed was brave solider and torchbearer who laid down his life for the sake of the country and added his supreme sacrifices would always be remembered. He said that September 6 was observed with full national spirit and for renewal of our resolve to lay down our lives for our beloved motherland.

He added that reminds us of the indomitable courage and unprecedented sacrifices rendered by our Armed Forces for the defense of the sacred frontiers of this Motherland, adding we hold in great esteem the bravery of our warriors and are profoundly indebted to all Shuhda and Ghaziz for carving a niche in the history of Pakistan. Besides bereaved families of the martyrs, members of the civil society, Provincial Minister for Tourism GilgitBaltistanFida Khan Fida, Member Legilative Assembly Raja JehanZeb, Food Adviser Ghulam Muhammad were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, a good number of rallies took out by political, religious, city organizations, traders and especially a mammoth rally was taken out by the Journalists of Shikarpur to mark Defense Day and expressed their solidarity with Kashmir people, here on Friday.

Journalist’s rally was leading by Rahim Bakhsh Jamali, Nazir Qureshi, the president and General Secretary of Shikarpur Press Club, respectively. Speaking on the occasion, Rahim Bakhsh Jamali, Agha Israr, Sultan Rind, AK Soomro, Waheed Phulpoto, Rahmatullah Soomro, Sodho James and others paid great tribute to martyrs of 6th September of 1965 and termed them Heros’ of Pakistan and encouraged the youths of Pakistan to learn a lesson from the history and love their martyrs, who fought with bravery and protect their beloved land, and respect the families of martyrs.

Phulpoto while addressing a mammoth rally said that we are celebrating today’s Defense Day as Kashmir Day because Indian government has forcibly occupied the territory of Kashmir and forcibly removed article 370 which acknowledges the special status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir in terms of autonomy and its ability to formulate laws for the state’s permanent residents and strongly condemned the atrocities continued by Indian government on innocent people of Kashmir and termed atrocities as combat madness.

At many palaces Quran Khawanis meetings were held to offer Aisal Sawab for martyrs of 6th September in Shikarpur. The people of Shikarpur ensured the Pak Army that they are standing shoulder to shoulder with Pak Army and raised voice in favor of Pak Army and chanted slogans against Indian government.
