Deputy PM discusses Afghanistan’s engagement with UK charge d’Affaires

KABUL (TOLONews): Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs, Mawlaw Abdul Kabir, met with the Charge d’Affaires of the UK Mission to Afghanistan, Robert Chatterton Dickson, and stated that the Islamic Emirate wants to have positive engagement with the world, particularly the UK, according to a statement of the Arg. The statement quoted Chatterton Dickson as saying that Britain wants to connect Afghanistan with the world.
“As the UK expressed readiness to have good relations with the Islamic Emirate and to mediate between the Islamic Emirate and international community, it is a good word for the people of the two countries,” said Hassan Haqyarz, a political analyst.
Prior to Mawlawi Kabir, deputy Foreign Minister Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai met with Chatterton Dickson, where he stated that the Islamic Emirate wants to negotiate and engage with all countries. “It is good that these visits happen because they come and talk about their assessment of Afghanistan based on the realities here and also brief them [Islamic Emirate officials] on what the international community wants,” said Ajmal Zurmati, a political analyst.
“As long as the girls’ schools are not open and the rights of women are not observed, I don’t think the western countries will come forward for engagement so easily,” said Bilal Fatimi, a political analyst. No country has formally recognized the Islamic Emirate since it came ro power.
