DG Info for bringing pleasant changes

PESHAWAR: Baseer Ali Rehman, Director General Information Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sunday emphasized on bringing about pleasant changes in the programs and structure of Pakhtunkhwa Radio Peshawar.
He said this while addressing the certificates awarding ceremony to the guest producers and duty officers of the Pakhtunkhwa Radio Peshawar who performed their duties on special marathon broadcast of Eid-ul-Adha.
He said the provincial government wants to stabilize its only radio network and in this struggle for improvement.
The entire government machinery including the Information Secretary, would fully support the new Radio administration, he added. It is the provincial government’s own brand radio while providing quality infotainment to the listeners and viewers is one of the primary duties of this Radio, he said.
He also paid visits to different sections of the Pakhtunkhwa Radio FM 92.2 Peshawar station and later chairing the briefing in this regard.
DG Information maintained that it was the need of the hour for media organizations to continuously improve with passage of the time and assured that all needed resources will be provided to Pakhtunkhwa Radio for this purpose. He asked that the new administration should expedite the cases related to radio improvement so that they can be dealt with in time.
On the issues raised by Station Director Ghulam Hussain Ghazi, the Director General Information clarified that Information Minister Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel in his recent visit to Pakhtunkhwa Radio, in principle has agreed to the demands for installation of new long-range transmitter and opening PLA account.
He said these two issues will be permanently resolved with the approval of the caretaker Chief Minister Muhammad Azam Khan. Wherein he said, this only broadcasting house of the provincial government will be able to devote its resources for the improvement of radio transmissions.
He also appreciated the initiative of lice streaming the radio broadcasts through social media and hoped that this step would tantamount the radio listening expand beyond Peshawar to the whole world.
However, he also directed that the popularity graph of various programs should also be visible in the live streams so that there is an atmosphere of competition between the producers.
Earlier, on the arrival at the Radio station, Baseer Ali Rehman inspected various sections of the broadcasting house and gave instructions on the spot for some changes.
The station director and radio staff also presented a shield to the Director General Information as a memento of the visit.
