DHO says polio drive achieving targets

ASTORE: District Health Officer (DHO) Khursheed Ahmed said Thursday that recent polio campaign was conducted in peaceful manner, achieving its coverage target successfully. The heath officer said that polio was a deadly disease which crippled the young population, so the district administration had vowed to make the district polio-free.

He expressed these views during his visit to dispensaries at far-flung areas of the district where he inspected arrangements of health department and met patients to listen to their problems. He said that the district health department was taking concrete measures to provide all healthcare facilities to the people of the area. He also dispelled the impression about shortage of medicines, adding adequate stock of medicines in all health facilities of the district. He also instructed the medical staff to help and serve the poor people of the area with dedication.
