Dir voters asked to register votes till 31st

TIMERGARA: The Lower Dir election commissioner Noor Said Khan Khattak on Monday said the government had extended last date of voters’ registration to March, 31. According to a hand out issued here he said that 8 to 10 per cent of the voters were registered on a third address instead of their permanent or temporary addresses in their computerized national identity cards.

He said that according to section 27 of the election act 2013 the voters registered on addresses other than their permanent or temporary addresses were not entitled to vote. The election commissioner said the government had extended the date for review to march, 31. He said that seven display centers had been set up in Lower Dir. These centers are government primary school Chakdara No 1 for Adenzai, office of the district education officer for tehsil Balambat and Timergara, government primary school Munda for tehsil Munda, GPS Samar Bagh for tehsil Samar Bagh, GPS Lal Qila for tehsil Maidan and GPS Khall for tehsil Khall residents. He said that voters could replace their votes on form 21 at those centers. Mr Khattak asked the aspirants to register their votes on their permanent or temporary addresses till March, 31 otherwise voter lists would be freeze after due date.
