District govt imposes ban on airing Indian music and movies

TIMERGARA: The Lower dir district government on Friday imposed ban on airing music and Indian films through local cable network in the month of Ramazan and warned the concerned people of action in case of any violation.

A press release issued from the office of district nazim Muhammad Rasool Khan said the action was being taken to observe sacredness of the Holy month. It said the district government had received complaints that some cable networks were running Indian films on which actions were being taken. It said that actions against the violators would be taken under Pemra rules, 2015.

The nazim said that a meeting of relevant officers had been convened to be held at his office on May, 15 during which strategy would be made for controlling price hike during the month of Ramazan.
