District govt wants mega projects in ADP for Mardan

F.P. Report

MARDAN: District government Mardan has proposed and asked the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to include some important mega developmental schemes in provincial Annual Developmental Program (ADP) in respect of Mardan district, it has been learnt.

In this regard, the district nazim Mardan Himayat Ullah Mayar advocate while talking to The Frontier Post here on Saturday urged that the PTI provincial government should include those developmental projects and schemes in the provincial ADP in the best interest of residents of Mardan.

“Though the provincial government is striving to bring change in the socio-economic development all over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province yet a considerable vacuum with discriminative approach by the responsible forums has seriously been observed by the district government Mardan and even certain ongoing mega projects, started by the previous ANP-led provincial government, have been ignored in the release of the estimated costs which caused inordinate delay in its completion and ultimately deprived the community of its legitimate benefits and set goals,” he alleged.

Mr. Mayar said that it would be more appropriate to provide the remaining funds and complete the ongoing mega developmental projects and schemes in Mardan district without any further delay.

He, however, mentioned some of those mega- developmental schemes and projects which he stressed that the PTI provincial government should include in the provincial ADP of the upcoming financial year on priority basis.

While pointing out those developmental schemes for inclusion in provincial ADP, he said that the KPK government should construct 2nd portion of Ring Road Mardan as land for that purpose had been earmarked by the last ANP provincial government.

He said that technical and vocational centers for both male and female genders should be established at union council level.

The provincial government should take steps for widening, beautification and installation of traffic lights on all major chowks and intersections of urban venues of Mardan district, he said, adding that women sports complex provided with all facilities for indoor and out-door games should established.

Similarly, he asked the government to measures for early release of funds and completion of balance work on district headquarter hospital, Benazir Children Hospital, Bacha Khan Medical College, Rural Health Centers of Khazana Dheri, Garhi Daulat Zai, Bakhshali, Sawaldher so to make all those vital health facilities functional.

The district nazim demanded of the provincial government to also take steps to establish Nero-Sciences Block in Mardan Medical Complex and Bacha Khan Medical College, besides, establishment of para-medical colleges and institutions at district and tehsil level.

Likewise, establishment of residential colonies for government employees at tehsil level, he added.

”Introduction as a pilot project ” Compulsory Education from age 5 to 16″ as a constitutional right of the citizen of Pakistan,” he added.

He urged the government to launch interest-free loans for youth, skilled and un-skilled workers so that to strengthen the building capacity of youth and mitigate un-employment.
