District Nazim inaugurates new block in MICG

PESHAWAR: City District Nazim Muhammad Asim Khan on Thursday inaugurated a new block in Municipal Inter College for Girls in Shahi Bagh and it would be completed with total sum of Rs 50.6 million.

During his speech at Municipal Inter College for Girls, Mr Asim Khan said that the local government system introduced by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was strengthening its roots and getting mature. In the light of local government system, the problems of local communities are prioritized and resolved in available resources, he claimed.

He claimed that district government was taking pragmatic steps to execute the reforms agenda of PTI led provincial government and it will take all possible steps to bring about real change in provincial capital. Though, the provincial and district government are committed to focus other sectors as well to bring reforms in all departments, he added.

While following the reforms agenda, the provincial and district government are trying their best to implement education reforms in its true letter and spirit, he said and adding several initiatives in education sector have been taken in this regard. Sharing details regarding number of mega projects, he informed that Namak Mandi Food Street is near to completion and a massive car parking will also be established.

Sahibzada Tariqullah, Director Coordination Officer, Naib Nazim Town I, Shoaib Bangesh, members of district council and college staff were also present during inaugural event. A new block inaugurated by Nazim will cost Rs 50.6 million. Principal, staff, students and parents expressed pleasure over inauguration of new block and saying it will encourage the enrolled students.

It is to be mentioned here that the historical Municipal Inter College for Girls had been established in 1985 and unfortunately, most parts of its building had been damaged in 2005 earthquake.
