TIMERGARA: Lauding the appointment of Dr Qibla Ayaz as the new chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), former secretary education commission Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and prominent educationist Mr Rahim Haqqani said the council would achieve historical goals in his command. In a written statement issued here on Saturday, he said that Dr Qibla Ayaz was known for promoting inter-faith harmony and he would work generously for ending sectarian violence in the country.
The educationist said the appointment of Qibla Ayaz as CII chairman was based on merit and he was sure the council would make progress in his chairman ship. He said that Dr Ayaz had equal command on both religious and contemporary knowledge and challenges, and added that Dr Ayaz would bring together both the schools of thoughts which is essential for the country development.
