Drive against food adulteration continues: Spokesman

PESHAWAR (APP) : Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority conducted a major operation against the adulteration mafia in Peshawar, said its spokesman on Sunday.

A food safety team on a tip-off raided a spice factory in Mirch Mandi and seized over 4,000 kg of sub-standard material being used in the preparation of ‘Chape Keduran’ spices.

He said, 200 kg of substandard and unhealthy spices were also seized from the factory and machinery seized, owners, arrested, and further legal action initiated.

“Adulteration mafia does not deserve any concession” the spokesman quoted Director General Food Authority Shah Rukh Ali Khan as saying.
