F.P. Report

DUBAI: Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has slapped a fine of 320,040 UAE dirhams on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for violation of Covid-19 laws in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Wednesday.

The Rs16 million fine has been imposed by the UAE authorities on the PIA.

The PIA has been given the right to appeal within 30 days in response to the notice issued on March 8 incident.

The UAE CAA issued a letter of payment of fine on April 11, 2022 including the amount of fine on two passengers which is 320,000 UAE dirhams.

It has been directed that the fine imposed could either be transferred via cheque or cash or may be deposited in the Dubai CAA Financial Affairs Section.

The letter reads that the PIA committed first violation of corona rules on March 28, 2022 and second violation in April. The PIA allegedly committed twice a violation in a year.

It is claimed in the Dubai CAA letter that multiple violations had emerged in the past by Pakistan’s national carrier.
